Richard began his career as a professional sportsman with Cardiff RFC whilst studying Law, before moving into the commercial world with Barclays. Since then Richard has held regional sales management roles in the UK, Germany and Belgium. Since joining The Gap Partnership in 2011, Richard has delivered negotiation solutions and behavioural programmes to clients in 30+ countries. While initially focussed on UK clients in banking and professional services, Richard also become engaged in global projects within FMCG, retail, pharmaceutical, technology, oil and gas, media, property and the public sector. Richard manages a number of The Gap Partnership's most prestigious global client relationships. He spent 3 years travelling the globe and partnering with six of the world’s largest companies, offering support with their negotiation capability, strategy and the execution of their most challenging commercial deals. Following the birth of his daughter, Harriet, Richard has pivoted into a regional role and now leads a team of consultants in the legal, banking and professional services sector. He also heads up The Gap Partnership’s emerging market business across The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Richard has a particular interest and specialism in cross-cultural negotiation, and a proven track record in helping clients maximise deals in competitive markets while protecting the integrity of their commercial relationships.
